It greatly saddens me to learn that Robin Williams has died this Monday, apparently of suicide by asphyxiation. He was one of my favorite actors growing up, acting in many of my favorite childhood movies like Mrs. Doubtfire and Aladdin. He was also an amazing actor, showing an unmatches level of energy in both his movies and his stand-up, not to mention being incredibly versatile. whether it was his comedic or dramatic roles, he truly BECAME his characters.
Robin always seemed like the kind of person who tried to enjoy life and make people laugh, which makes it even harder to think of all the demons he's had to endure. His death, much like Justin Carmichal earlier this year, is another sign that depression is a serious problem that can affect anyone. He will be missed.

R.I.P. Justin Carmical A.K.A. JewWario
On January 23rd, Youtube celebrity Justin Carmical a.k.a. JewWario committed suicide. Admittedly I have not seen any of his videos and only know him from That Guy With the Glasses' anniversary videos. However, after seeing TGWTG's touching tribute video, I decided to write my thoughts on the matter. He seemed like a very nice guy who genuinely enjoyed what he did.
The most frightening thing was this all happened suddenly, and he appeared normal to his friends and colleagues beforehand. Who knows what was going on in his life to cause him to do this, but it is incredibly sad news regardless.
I can only imagine what his family is going through, and I send my sincerest condolences.

Doo Dah Parade
This Independence Day, my dad and I decided to treat ourselves by visiting the Doo Dah Parade downtown. For those who don't know or live in the Ohio area, the Doo Dah Parade is an event held every Fourth of July dedicated to everything satirical and irreverent. Every hot political/ pop culture subject you can imagine is skewered, as well as any liberal propaganda you can imagine. From Paula Dean to Kim Kardasian to Gordon Gee, no one was safe.
One of the best moments of the day was when fake Applebee's employees came marching down to promote a restaurant opening in the Short North. For those who aren't familiar with the area, the Short North is an area with a strong dedication towards local arts and restaurants, and has fought numerous times in the past to keep franchises out. Me, my dad, the guy that owned the piercing shop we were sitting at, and everyone before that was booing them, until one of the "waiters" finally told us it was a joke. though with his convincing uniform (with a badge and everything), you couldn't possibly tell.
So if you're ever in the Columbus area during the 4th of July, be sure to check it out. I know I've found a new annual routine.
